Physical Therapy Program - Faculty
Summary:
D’Youville University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty to provide leadership in the areas of clinical education and teaching content in orthopedics, cardiopulmonary or neurological areas of practice. Faculty rank will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the educational program in a shared governance setting.
- Engage in teaching, service, and scholarship, following the Boyer model of scholarship.
- Assure the use of best practices in clinical education.
- Teach in their content area of expertise.
- Review, develop, or revise course materials regularly.
- Assess student learning and meet with students.
- Collaborate with the clinical community.
- Represent the physical therapy department on various university-wide teams and committees.
- Collaborate with the Simulation Center at the Health Professions Hub to enhance experiential learning for students.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Eligible for licensure as a PT in NY State
- Hold an earned Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in addition to advanced specialty certification or an academic doctoral degree (DSc; EdD, PhD)
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience including supervision of students
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to support the education of students, program reports, and scholarly dialogue.
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain currency in content area of expertise and clinical education
- Foster a climate conducive to student success
- Use academic and experiential expertise to engender an engaging and innovative pedagogical approach to education
- Demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively in teams where divergent points of view can be discussed productively
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program
- Support accreditation activities for the program

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and qualifications.
