Occupational Therapy Program - Faculty
Summary:
D’Youville University Occupational Therapy program is seeking a 12-month clinical or tenure track faculty, at the rank of clinical assistant or assistant professor, respectively. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching 24 credit hours across the OT curriculum, advising students, serving the program, university, and community, and engaging in professional development and scholarship.
Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Responsible to teach graduate level courses
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative course environment
- Develop and implement course assignments and deliver learning activities that permit measurement of course student learning outcomes
- Assist with proficiency assessment of students entering clinical phase of study
- Offer office hours and academic counseling
- Work synergistically with student support programs at the university
Scholarship and Professional Activity
- Participate in continuing education, presentations, contributions to publications and leadership in professional organizations or other demonstration of scholarly work
- Engage in university trainings
Service
- Participate on program committees
- Serve on Faculty Senate or other university level committees, schoolwide task forces, standing committees, and/or workgroups
- Participate in program and university service-learning initiatives and professional development in both the discipline and as an educator
- Participate in professional organizations, community outreach efforts and civic service groups
- Participate in recruitment events and other events of the department
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and evaluate curriculum as needed
- Develop, review, revise and evaluate program goals and outcomes
- Assist with selecting applicants for admission to the OT program
- Identify new clinical placement sites and conduct clinical site visits
Qualifications:
Education:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program and licensed to practice in New York State;
- Must hold a doctoral degree
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of three years of professional experience.
- Professional experience in physical disabilities preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of assessment and intervention for adult and geriatric populations, and neuroanatomy preferred.
- Qualified candidates must show evidence of good moral character, strong work ethic, flexibility, ability to collaborate with inter-professional team members and an interest in working with high-achieving students.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 Annually

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and qualifications.
