Business Office - Staff Accountant I

Summary:

We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our Business Office. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with budget and close processes. This role will also involve supporting the Controller as needed and responding to information requests from management. To succeed in this position, the candidate should accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential for this role.

General Ledger and Financial Activities:

• Reconcile all cash and investment accounts monthly.
• Record daily cash activity and perform daily reconciliations.
• Reconcile student loan activity with ECSI (external billing agency).
• Prepare cash forecasting reports.
• Reconcile credit card accounts payable.
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting for audits and monthly financial reporting.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of accounting and treasury functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Effective communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting or general ledger work.
• Treasury experience is preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
