Office of Admissions - Director

Position Summary:

The Director of Admissions reports to the Chief Enrollment Strategist and manages undergraduate and graduate admissions counselors, as well as marketing and campus visit staff. The Director will also oversee a collection of key internal operational tasks as assigned.

Duties:

  • Provide daily oversight of the Admissions Office.
  • Lead the recruitment and admission of undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Ensure the appropriate admission of qualified candidates.
  • Advise and assist the Chief Enrollment Strategist and serve on the Enrollment Management leadership team.
  • Execute best-practice strategies to achieve enrollment and other key goals. Evaluate the effectiveness of admissions activities and strategies, continuously recommending changes, and/or enhancements.
  • Serve in a recruitment role, with a student territory appropriate for a director, in consultation with the Chief Enrollment Strategist.
  • Participate in regular reporting and lead indicator updates to inform University stakeholders and empower decision-making.
  • Analyze data as a daily practice to inform current strategies.
  • Oversee staff onboarding and professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the supervisors of other units in Enrollment Management and their respective direct reports. Collaborate with various departments on campus to galvanize a University-wide approach to student recruitment.
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive admissions communication strategies, including social media, text, email, phoning (student and staff), printed materials, and publications.
  • Represent Admissions and Enrollment Management interests on various University committees as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students/parents, University officials, and outside constituents.
  • Provide superior customer service.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Experience:

  • Prior experience leading admissions staff at the assistant/associate director, or higher level.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written channels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Comprehensive technology, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology. Experience with Slate CRM a plus.
  • Commitment to applying University rules, regulations, and policies in specific admission cases.
  • Demonstrate a consistently positive attitude and commitment to a healthy and productive work environment. Demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of all direct reports and other colleagues.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually
