Summary: 

The Pre-Award Research Administrator will support Principal Investigators (PIs) and Project Directors (PDs) in securing funding for health programs and research, particularly from federal agencies like HRSA, NSF, USDA, CDMRP, and NIH. This role involves serving as the main contact during the pre-award process, reviewing and editing proposals, maintaining organized records, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines. The administrator will also guide faculty and staff through proposal development, budget preparation, and submission, while providing training and resources on grant proposal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Principal Investigator (Pls) and Project Directors (PDs) find funding opportunities for health research, especially from federal agencies like HRSA, NSF, USDA, CDMRP, and NIH.
  • Act as the main contact between faculty, staff, and funding agencies during the pre-award process.
  • Review and edit proposals to ensure they are accurate and complete.
  • Keep organized records of all pre-award documents and ensure timely submission and compliance with guidelines.
  • Assist faculty and staff with proposal development, budget preparation, and submission.
  • Provide training and resources on grant proposal development, including one-on-one consultations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in research grant writing or administration.
  • Strong knowledge of the health funding landscape and federal agencies.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in research administration software and grant submission platforms.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with federal funding agencies and complex, multi-institutional research proposals.
  • Familiarity with GrantHub or similar systems.
  • Experience in higher education or research institutions.

Pay: $58,000 - $62,000 Annually
