Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program - Faculty

Summary: 

D’Youville University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Program is actively seeking a full-time, 12-month clinical or tenure-track faculty member to join our dedicated team. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching 24 credit hours per academic year across the CMHC curriculum, advising students, serving the program and the university community, and engaging in professional development and scholarship. Our two-year graduate program emphasizes an integrative healthcare approach and prepares students for licensure as mental health counselors in New York State.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses within the CMHC curriculum, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Advise and mentor students throughout their academic journey.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the CMHC program.
  • Engage in service to the university and the broader community.
  • Participate in professional development activities and scholarly research.

Requirements:

  • An earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or a related doctoral degree with prior full-time faculty experience in a counselor education program for at least one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State or eligible to transfer an existing license from another state.
  • Sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical and/or teaching experience at the graduate level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with preferred experience in CACREP-accredited programs.
  • Evidence of good moral character, a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate with inter-professional team members.
  • A commitment to working with high-achieving, ethnically diverse students.
  • Ability to teach in both hybrid (in-person monthly weekends) and online delivery formats.

Pay: $56,000.00 - $66,000.00 Annually

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate. Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and qualifications.
