Institutional Advancement - Director of Annual Giving

Summary: 

D’Youville University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Annual Giving to join our Institutional Advancement team. Under the general direction of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Director will develop and manage a comprehensive, strategic annual fund program aimed at building a robust base of donors and increasing support for D’Youville University. The goal is to enhance annual unrestricted, restricted, and leadership-level contributions, fostering a sustainable tradition of annual support.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and implement strategic and tactical initiatives for soliciting gifts from alumni, trustees, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to achieve annual giving goals.
  • Oversee all annual giving programs, including direct mail, phone campaigns, faculty/staff initiatives, senior gifts, and targeted solicitations. Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Services on initiatives related to the annual leadership society.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of the annual fund program, making necessary adjustments to ensure goals are met.
  • Create and execute a sustainable volunteer support network within the annual fund program.
  • Manage a personal portfolio of 100 leadership annual giving prospects, setting annual goals for personal visits and giving outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Development Team to increase the number of leadership annual fund donors, focusing on retaining and upgrading current donors to the Saints Society.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in annual fund management, alumni engagement, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Interest in soliciting and securing gifts while working effectively with volunteers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across the organization.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
