International Student Services and Campus Employment Coordinator
Summary:
The International Student Services and Campus Employment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating international student services, campus student employment programs, and student payroll processes in compliance with federal, state, and institutional requirements. This position serves as D’Youville’s Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and acts as a central liaison among university community.
The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply regulations related to immigration, student employment, and payroll. The coordinator ensures accurate processing of student employment and payroll activities while supporting international students and global engagement initiatives.
This position is an on-site role and requires a regular physical presence on campus
Responsibilities:
International Student Services Coordinator
- Serve as the University’s Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for international student programs, ensuring compliance with DHS, SEVP, and federal immigration regulations.
- Manage the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), ensuring accurate data entry, monitoring, and reporting.
- Advise international students on F-1 status, employment eligibility, CPT, OPT, travel documentation, and related matters.
- Act as liaison with federal, state, and local agencies regarding international student compliance and documentation.
- Collaborate with other campus partners to onboard and orient international students and support their academic and cultural transition.
- Develop and coordinate workshops, orientations, and informational materials for international students and their families.
- Market and recruit students for study abroad opportunities and assist in developing study abroad programming leveraging university partnerships.
- Stay current on immigration regulations and trends and communicate updates to appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop and implement educational workshops, lectures, social events and informative materials for international students and their families.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Student Employment and Payroll Coordinator
- Serve as the liaison with the university community and student employment, overseeing job requests, job postings, job classifications, and disciplinary actions for student employees.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for student employment and student payroll, ensuring accurate submission, review, and approval of student employee timesheets in accordance with university payroll schedules and paid accurately, and maintained in compliance with institutional, state, and federal requirements.
- Collaborate with Financial Aid, Payroll, the Business Office, Career and Professional Engagement and off-campus community partners to ensure compliance with employment policies.
- Monitor and manage institutional student employment programs in line with federal, state, and institutional guidelines and regulations.
- Posts available student employment positions in Handshake and monitor job openings.
- Review student employment eligibility and collaborate with Human Resources for onboarding and payroll processing.
- Conduct bi-weekly audits of timesheets submitted by student employees and resolve errors and discrepancies with payroll concerns.
- Oversee reconciliation of federal and institutional employment funds to support the completion of the FISAP.
- Analyze reports and metrics to assess the effectiveness of the student employment program, recommend improvements as needed.
- Develop and maintain all necessary forms, policies, and processes for students’ employment and supervisor responsibilities.
- Maintain active membership in NEASEA (Northeast Student Employment Association) and complete necessary training SEE (Student Employment Essentials) through NSEA (as offered)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
In addition, for both aspects of the position:
- Maintain accurate records of student employment and international student activities, including attendance, evaluations, and program metrics.
- Collaborate with university administration to manage financial resources and budgets for student employment and international student initiatives.
- Respond to inquiries from students, employers, faculty, and staff regarding student employment, internships, and international student inquiries.
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to student employment and international student services.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree

- Strong understanding of the college environment and educational systems.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating and collaborating with students, parents, faculty, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when needed.
- Passion for international student services and global initiatives.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience with serving international students
- Previous experience with SEVIS, I-20s, and F-1 Visas
- Previous experience coordinating student employment programs or similar initiatives is highly desirable.
Physical & Environmental:
- Possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in critical situations.
- Thorough knowledge of student information system(s).
- Handle multiple tasks and priorities at once while solving problems and thinking innovatively.
- Administrative, organizational, supervisory, and budget-management skills.
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, stair climbing, maneuvering objects of substantial weight.
- Must possess a student-centered personal philosophy.
- Frequent typing of computer keyboard.

Pay: $45,000 - $50,000 Annually
