Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) - Half-Time Faculty
Summary:
D’Youville University is actively seeking applications for four half-time core faculty members to teach in our Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at its Buffalo Campus. The (Clinical) Assistant Professor positions will require teaching courses at the graduate level in our PsyD program and service.
There are three (3) half-time (Clinical) Assistant Professor positions available.
The PsyD Program, which is designated as a licensure-qualifying program in New York, is based on the practitioner-scholar model and is in process of accreditation with the American Psychological Association (APA).
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction (12 graduate credit hours per academic year) in PsyD program
- Deliver and develop educational content including lectures, small group discussions and handson clinical training as per course and program requirements
- Evaluate and assess student performance
- Provide academic advising and mentoring to PsyD students
- Participate in APA accreditation activities
- Engage in professional development, curriculum development, scholarship, and service
- Participate in PsyD program development and review
- Contribute to institutional initiates and engage in community service related to Clinical Psychology
- Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth within the program and broader community
Qualifications:
Education:
- Doctoral degree in psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.)l
- Must be licensed or license-eligible in New York State
Experience:
- College/university teaching experience and strong potential for scholarly activity preferred

- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of successful College/University teaching experience.
- Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship.
- Experience or potential for pursuing external funding.
- Licensed or license-eligible at the doctoral level in New York.
- Experience or interest in contributing to service activities associated with the PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology.
- Commitment to research and service with populations historically experiencing barriers to mental healthcare.
- Experience teaching or interest in developing some combination of the following courses: Consultation, Psychometrics, Cognitive Assessment, Cognitive and Affective Processes, Treatment Modalities, Behavioral Pharmacology and Psychopharmacology, Statistics, Health Psychology, and Practicum and potential course development in specialized area of expertise (e.g., geropsychology).
