School of Health Professions - Faculty, Speech-Language Pathology

Position Summary:

D’Youville University invites applications for a 12-month faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. The successful candidate will contribute to the launch and growth of the new undergraduate Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and may also teach in the existing Master of Science (M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology program.

This position represents an exciting opportunity to help build a new undergraduate program from its inception and contribute to D’Youville’s expanding portfolio of innovative, interprofessional health programs. The selected candidate will be instrumental in developing and teaching foundational undergraduate courses, mentoring students, and contributing to program design and assessment in alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach core undergraduate CSD courses.
  • Teach SLP graduate courses as needed.
  • Collaborate with program faculty to ensure academic quality, course sequencing, and curricular alignment across the undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Participate in student advising, mentorship, and academic support initiatives.
  • Contribute to undergraduate program development, assessment, and continuous improvement consistent with NYSED and institutional expectations.
  • Engage in scholarship and professional development that supports excellence in teaching and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide service to the department, school, university, and professional community.
  • Clinical supervision and/or clinical program development may also be a part of this 12-month position.

Qualifications: 

Education:

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a closely related field.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure, in New York.

Experience:

  • Evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to student-centered learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of teaching, service, and scholarship.
  • Experience developing new academic programs and curricula.
  • Familiarity with interprofessional education (IPE), simulation-based learning, or innovative pedagogy.
  • Experience with accreditation processes, assessment of student learning outcomes, and use of technology in teaching.
  • Experience with grant-writing and research development.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annually

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate. 

Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and qualifications.
