Business Office - Assistant Controller

Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our Business Office. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor budgets, providing insights and recommendations for effective financial management.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support the Controller in overseeing internal controls and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Mentor and train accounting staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in public accounting or a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting principles and financial management practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Pay: $85,000.00 - $92,000.00 Annually
