Director of Early College and Dual Enrollment

Summary:

D’Youville University seeks an innovative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the Director of Early College and Dual Enrollment. This full-time administrative appointment provides strategic leadership for the University’s Early College and Dual Enrollment initiatives, including the continued expansion and oversight of the D’Youville Advantage Program.

The Director is responsible for developing and sustaining partnerships with school districts, public and private high schools, charter schools and other educational organizations that expand access to college-level education for secondary students.  Serving as the University’s primary academic and administrative leader for dual enrollment, the Director ensures the academic quality, integrity, and continuous improvement of all early college offerings while advancing D’Youville’s mission of improving educational access, affordability, and student success.

The Director provides leadership in curriculum alignment, faculty engagement, academic assessment, and program evaluation to ensure that all dual enrollment courses meet the standards and expectations of D’Youville University. The Director works collaboratively with academic departments to support instructor qualifications, course quality, student learning outcomes, and compliance with New York State Education Department requirements.

The administrative position incudes an academic appointment as Clinical Professor. The position combines strategic administrative leadership with significant academic responsibilities including faculty collaboration, curriculum oversight, assessment of student learning, and representation of the University in advancing college readiness initiatives.

 The Director reports to the President and works collaboratively with the Chief Enrollment Officer, Academic Deans, Registrar, Admissions, Marketing and Communications, Student Success, and partner school districts.

The position is supported by one full-time Dual Enrollment Coordinator, who manages day-to-day operational activities of the Advantage Program under the Director’s supervision.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide vision and strategic direction for D’Youville’s Early College and dual Enrollment initiatives.
  • Develop and implement annual growth strategies for the D’Youville Advantage Program.
  • Establish enrollment goals and partnership objectives within the University’s Strategic Plan.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.

Partnership Development

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with superintendents, principals, assistant principals, curriculum leaders, guidance directors, school counselors, teachers, and district administrators.
  • Identify, cultivate, and expand partnerships with school districts, private schools, charter schools, and other educational organizations throughout New York State.
  • Negotiate and maintain partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding.
  • Serve as D’Youville University’s primary representative for early college initiatives.
  • Present regularly to Boards of Education, superintendent councils, parent organizations, and educational associations regarding the value and impact of the D’Youville Advantage Program.
  • Travel to partner schools and educational events to strengthen relationships and support program growth.

Program Oversight

  • Oversee all operational and academic aspects of the D’Youville Advantage Program.
  • Ensure compliance with NYSED regulations and University academic policies.
  • Coordinate with academic departments regarding course offerings, faculty qualifications, scheduling, and instructional quality.
  • Collaborate with the University Registrar to ensure accurate registration, transcript processing, and reporting.
  • Evaluate program outcomes through assessment and data-informed decision-making.

 Recruitment and Outreach

  • Lead recruitment initiatives that increase student participation and expand school partnerships.
  • Deliver engaging presentations to students, parents, school administrators, school counselors, and community organizations.
  • Represent D’Youville at educational conferences, college fairs, and regional and statewide meetings.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management and Marketing to develop promotional materials and outreach strategies.

Academic Leadership

As a Clinical Professor, the Director will:

  • Provide academic leadership for all Early College and Dual Enrollment offerings.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment and equivalency between high-school-delivered and on-campus university courses.
  • Collaborate with academic departments on course development, instructional quality, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the recruitment, orientation, mentoring and professional development of dual enrollment instructors.
  • Promote evidence-based teaching practices and innovative approaches to college readiness and student success. 

Assessment and Reporting

  • Develop annual reports on enrollment, student success, partnership growth, and program outcomes.
  • Utilize assessment data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Prepare reports for university leadership and external agencies as required.

 Collaboration

  • Work closely with Academic Deans, Enrollment Management, Admissions, Marketing and Communications, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Student Success, and faculty leaders to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Participate in institutional planning and strategic initiatives that support enrollment growth and student success. 

Supervision

  • Directly supervise the full-time Dual Enrolment Coordinator, providing leadership for all operational functions of the Advantage Program, including student registration, scheduling, partnership communications, reporting, compliance, and customer service.
  • Foster a high-performing, service-orientated team that provides exceptional support to students, families, faculty and partner schools. 

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for appointment as Clinical Professor at D’Youville University.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education, K-12 education, enrollment management, or academic administration.
  • Demonstrated success developing educational partnerships and growing academic programs.
  • College-level teaching experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading dual enrollment or early college initiatives.
  • Experience working collaboratively with school districts and Boards of Education.
  • Knowledge of New York State dual enrollment regulations.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship, professional leadership, or innovation related to secondary-to-postsecondary pathways. 

Working Conditions

This is a full time administrative appointment with regional travel.

The position requires:

  • Frequent travel to partner schools and school districts.
  • Occasional evening meetings with Boards of Education, Parent Organizations, and family and student groups.
  • Public speaking and presentations.
  • Attendance at educational conferences, recruitment events, and professional meetings.
